Employees Information:
Making the decision to embark on the journey of searching for a new job can be a daunting but also a very exciting time. With this in mind Merit realise that for you, choosing an agency who can represent and work on your behalf is important, this is why we have the following processes in place:
- If you apply for a position or we identify your CV as being a match for a vacancy we are recruiting for or you have a particular skill set which would be of interest to one of our clients a consultant will contact you via telephone to discuss the opportunity. If you have applied for a job vacancy you should expect a response within 48 working hours.
- If a successful telephone interview has been conducted, you will be invited into our Merit offices to register and undertake a formal face to face interview with a Merit consultant (for senior positions this process is likely to involve a 2nd interview with a Business Manager). These interviews are conducted in private interview rooms and will give you the opportunity to present yourself and give us a clear understanding of your requirements.
At this stage if we are mutually agreed that you are suitable for a position we are recruiting for or potentially suitable for a client we work with then we will work together to assemble a detailed profile, compiling your key attributes and relevant experience to send to the client alongside your CV.
You will then receive regular feedback, even if you are not successful at attaining an interview.
Deciding upon a permanent position requires commitment and we encourage you to think carefully about your key strengths and attributes and your reasons behind why you are seeking a new opportunity. It is also important to consider what type of organization you have preferred working for in the past and any elements that have increased your work satisfaction in addition to the job role itself. Do you feel comfortable working for a large company or do you prefer a smaller company, plus how important is the opportunity for progression for you, any training you may need, and benefits? Thought must also be given to how far you are willing to travel to work and if you do not drive are you able to us public transport and how this will affect your salary expectations.
Merit is an equal opportunities employment agency and you can expect a fair and non-discriminatory practice from all of our staff.
We will never send your CV to a client without your consent and a full discussion beforehand.
