At Merit we understand that finding the right candidate for a role can be complex and time consuming, as a result of this we provide an in-depth recruitment process to minimise these constraints on our clients, resourcing candidates tailored to individual needs.

Our knowledge and extensive network of contacts have placed us in a unique position to handle your permanent requirements, and we take pleasure in having secured repeat business since our formation in 1987.

Recruitment Process:

We employ a rigorous recruitment process, providing an end to end service from profiling to placement.

Job Profiling:

Our aim is to build a relationship with all of our clients to the point where we fully understand the needs and requirements of their business. This includes an appreciation of the culture of the organisation and the expectations from the new appointment, we do this through a site visit and detailed discussion.

Advertising:

In addition to our website, we have subscriptions to specialist and general online job boards where we advertise our current roles. Our consultants are trained to write advertisements in order to make them as effective as possible. We handle the response to all applications through the initial screening of CV’s responding to all applicants in a timely manner.

Resourcing:

CV databases give us access to a large pool of candidates who we actively approach, as well as utilising our own extensive database, which we continuously update.

Initial Contact:

The first stage of our recruitment process is a telephone interview whereby we discuss the candidates requirements and establish mutual suitability for the role.

1st Line Interview:

If a successful telephone interview has been conducted, candidates are invited to the Merit office to undertake a formal face-to-face interview with a Merit consultant (for senior positions this is likely to involve a second meeting with a Business Manager). The interviews are conducted in private interview rooms and we also offer these facilities to our clients, free of charge, together with interview training and assistance.

Introduction:

At the end of this process we provide clients with a short list of CV’s and a written profile. All candidates will be fully briefed prior to attending an interview.

No Placement No Fee:

You pay nothing unless we place a candidate, and then our competitive fees are transparent and negotiable based on a percentage of the candidates’ first year salary. Our confidence in our ability allows us to offer a rebate structure for all our permanent placements if a candidate leaves within the first 3 months.

We have an established reputation of placing, sourcing and career managing with many individuals who register with Merit, having been referred to us by previous candidates.

Confidentiality:

We appreciate that in certain instances the vacancy at hand may be sensitive in nature and for this reason we treat non-disclosure with substantial consideration, not divulging companies’ details until applicants are selected for interview.

Headhunting/Executive Search:

Our clients and our experiences have shown that specialist roles are most effectively filled by headhunting. With extensive research we identify suitable applicants within a given sector to contact directly, informing them of the available opportunity.
